The OT Screener is a pre-referral screening tool for a students visual-motor integration skills (copying) and fine motor grasp (pencil grasp). It can be used by teachers and therapists to quickly screen their students to determine if they have met pre-writing developmental milestones, and is ideal for students in Pre-K through second grade.
Information obtained from the OT Screener can be used to implement targeted pre-referral intervention for students, and may be used by teachers to determine curricular decisions.
Each milestone has a dedicated page that identifies criteria for mastery. Additionally, intervention strategies are listed to help guide teachers and therapists when selecting activities to assist students in learning a particular skill.
Links to printable resources are also available, and include data keeping sheets, in addition to screening forms for students to write on.
The OT Screener is compatible with iOS 17 and later.
